A response from an anti Emily story on Fan fiction

emily rocks!
sam would have killed himself without her. would you like to have a death on your conscience? i know i wouldnt!
and leah and emily were like sisters when they were young.
emily isnt a Stephenie Meyer
My Response
If a person threatens to kill themself because you won't be with them then its abuse and its more of a reason not to be with them. Also if a person would kill themself because you reject them then they are obviously mentally disturbed and I would arrange for them to seek psychological help before they do something to harm themself. That way you will not have death on your concience and you can say you did everything you could. Being with them is not the answer especially when they have aqlready been abusive due to your rejection.
As for Leah and Emily being like sisters when they were young thats exactly the reason Emily is a Stephenie Meyer. You do not go with your almost sister's ex especially if he left her for you.

Team Edward? Team Jacob?
Team rocket is the team you wanna be on, the ultimate. As for twilight, it's ok but the twitards put me off. Twilight is ok but I wouldn't even THINK of attempting some of the things that twitards do. Madness. And for the record: KAIBA I LOVE YOU xoxo |

I over heard this sort of argument with an anti and a twitard and here's my version of what would've happened if it was me:
Her: O.M.G, Eclipse is coming out soon, I'm gonna camp out all night waiting for Robert to kiss me. Me: You have no chances of kissing him. Think About how may people will be waiting for the same. Her: Do you even like twilight? Me: It's ok I guess... Her: EXCUSE ME! YOU WILL SAY IT'S BRILLIANT NOT "ok"! Me: Jeeeeeezz... Don't be a fangirl, I'm just sayin' that I prefer anime. Her: Who could give a tango about that nerdy tango? Me: I do. Her: You have no taste you nerd, Anyway, I'll be in line watching that sexy body of Robert's while you're at home watching Yu GAY Oh! Speaking of Robert, how could he be any less sexy than a boy named Seto? Me: Well, at least Seto won't kill me, yes he is sexier and doesn't sparkle like a- (Insert the P word here.) Her: Don't insult my Eddiekins! At least he doesn't watch cartoons from JAPAN! *She slants her eyes* (When I overheard this she was taking the piss out of another country but I used Japan as it is my version and they weren't talking about anime but if it was me this is the sort of track it would go down. But you get the general idea.) Insulting Twilight is like racism to the people who like it. So apparently in her view it's ok to mock a REAL race but not ok to mock some silly cult like Twilight? This girl has issues. Twilogic sucks Edward cock, oh right, he doesn't have one! Team Edward? Team Jacob?

Someone on deviantart was writing a fic about Alec and Jane and this is what someone replied:
"I really like it! I see that they are twins, OMG to them, incest is apparently ok! Seriously these fics sometimes scare me, the fic was good but they should have picked different characters to ship. It's fics like these that put me off twilight! Team Edward? Team Jacob?

The truth is, though, you can find odd (objectionable) ships in every fandom. It's certainly not limited to Twilight. And if one is open-minded enough (or at least very horny (!)), one can appreciate just about any ship if it's decently-written. I've read HP fics that feature Draco/Lucius/Harry threesomes. And they weren't even half-bad.

I might not be a squad member but my personal BS-meter just tripped. I wish to advance the cause of Humanity by whatever means necessary. All other objectives are secondary.

Yes. Hence the mention of a Lucius/Draco/Harry threesome. Note that the "Lucius" and "Draco" parts of that threesome are father and son (and, just for the record, I would normally have many more problems with the idea of a father/son sexual relationship than I would have for a sibling sexual relationship). And do you have any idea how many sexfics are out there that feature Fred and George Weasley? Neither do I. But there are an awful lot of them, to the point where there's a genre ("twincest") just for that specific pairing. One can also find, for example, Sasuke/Itachi fics in the Naruto fandom. And undoubtedly there are Buffy/Dawn fics, and maybe even Buffy/Joyce fics. In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if there wasn't at least one sexfic out there featuring Peter Parker and Aunt May. (now there's a thought I regret having right before I go to sleep...) My point: as I said before, one can find "objectionable" pairings in just about any fandom. The reason I put "objectionable" in quotes is that things that are thoroughly objectionable in real life are far less so in fiction, especially in fanfic (which readers automatically take far less seriously than published fiction, and far, far less seriously than real life). (Personally, I can stomach just about anything in fanfic, as long as a) it's well-written (or at least decently-written if it's not a problem pairing for me), b) the characters don't start off completely out of character, c) all characters involved are human, or at least humanoid and sentient, and d) there isn't a huge age/maturity gap (and by "huge," I mean I have a problem with Dumbledore/Harry pairings (of which I've encountered more than enough)). I actually usually stay away from reading fanfics with incest pairings as well, but that's more of a general rule, not a hard and fast one. But all that is just me. Everybody has their own threshold, and mine used to be much lower than it is now; exposure does that. I can stomach all of this, because of the 700,000,000 fanfics I've read in my life, I can count on one hand the fanfics that I would take seriously, to the point where I would - or could - feel offended by anything that happened in the fic. Fanfics exist outside of the canon universe, and are just not meant to be taken that seriously, especially not if they contain sex.) |
